In the reboot of the iconic Superman franchise, "Man of Steel" (2013) explores the origin story of Kal-El, also known as Clark Kent, played by Henry Cavill. Zod's destruction of Metropolis and the subsequent battle with Superman sparks a chain reaction that exposes Clark's true nature as an alien. The film culminates in an epic showdown between Superman and Zod, which ultimately results in the destruction of most of Metropolis. Throughout the movie, director Zack Snyder pays homage to the original Superman comics while modernizing the characters and their motivations. Cavill brings a new depth to the iconic character, conveying his vulnerability and inner turmoil as he tries to balance his human and Kryptonian identities.
